Voyage Summary in English and Tamil

The Horse and the Tiger, The Ape and the Goat, Decided one morning,To hire a boat.

To leave their own country, And find a new one, Very much in the manner, Columbus had done.

The boat went a-sailing, Away and away, It sailed and they sailed, For a night and a day.

When all of a sudden, There blew a great gale, The Horse was a-tremble,The Tiger grew pale.

The Ape and the Goat, Nearly fainted together, But the boat went a-sailing, In spite of bad weather.

A-sailing, a-sailing, A-sailing it goes, To a wonderful country, Which nobody knows.

The Horse and the Tiger, The Ape and the Goat, Has found a new one, As Columbus had done.

Question 1.
Why water is a good example for all states of matter?
Answer:
Water is unique because it is the only natural substance that can exist in all three states of matter at the temperatures normally found on Earth! Water is usually a liquid, but when it reaches to 0° C (32° Fahrenheit (F)), it freezes into ice. (Ice is the solid state of water.) When water reaches 100° C (212° F), it boils.

When it begins to boil, some of the water turns into steam. (Steam is the gas state of water, and is also called water vapour.) When steam comes into contact with cool air (which reduces energy), it can condense back into water droplets (liquid again). Those water droplets could then freeze into (solid) ice.

Question 1.
Discuss with your friends.
Rain water harvesting has an important role to protect our environment.
Answer:
Importance of Rainwater Harvesting :
Rainwater harvesting can be a permanent solution to the problem of the water crisis. This is particularly applicable in hilly areas where rainwater harvesting can be utilized for human consumption, for animals and also for farming.
A bad monsoon means low crop yield and shortage of food.

Even animals suffer from a scarcity of water. We face acute water crisis during the summer months. The farmers are the most affected because they do not get sufficient water for their fields. Rainwater harvesting, therefore, is an ideal solution for farmers who depend on monsoon for consistent water supply.

Unavailability of clean water compels the consumption of polluted water, giving rise to water-borne diseases and a high rate of infant mortality.

If rainwater, which comes for free, can be collected and stored, instead of letting it run off, it could be an alternative to back up the main water supply especially during dry spells.

Its importance will not be limited to an individual family but can be used by a community as well. It also creates a sense of social responsibility and awareness about the environment.

The importance of rainwater harvesting lies in the fact that it can be stored for future use. Harvesting rainwater checks surface runoff of water and reduce soil erosion.

In areas having sparse and irregular rainfall, scarcity of water is a persistent problem. It cannot be completely resolved but can be mitigated through rainwater harvesting.

Bujju’s Brave Adventure Summary in English and Tamil

On a nice winter morning, Bujju family set out on a trip to the nearby hill. Bujju cousins Appu, Bala, Surya and Janani accompanied him. The kids were so excited to explore the place.

Mother : Look kids! Be around us. Never go anywhere alone

Bujju : Yes ma!

Mother : First have your breakfast then, we will go there.

Bujju : Ma! See the waterfall.

Bujju mother started unpacking the food. Meanwhile, the kids could not wait for the parents to take them to the waterfall. So they ran away without informing the parents.

Appu : Run… Run… Run….

Appu : Oh! I feel too hungry. I have only one guava. I shall eat it myself.

Surya : Hey Appu! What are you eating?

Appu : Nothing Surya

Appu swallowed and got hiccups. So, Surya and Appu returned to parents.

Appa : Where did you go? What about others?

Surya : Don’t worry pa. They are playing nearby.

Without noticing, the other three kept running towards the waterfall. There Bala and Janani got diverted on seeing a naughty monkey.

Janani : Look at that naughty monkey! Let us act like it and have fun!

Bala : I feel very hungry. Let’s go.

As Bala and Janani felt hunary, they returned to parents. But Bujju sped towards the waterfall. He was shocked to see that no one was there.

Bujju : Is that a ROAR of a lion? Mummy!

Bujju : I shouldn’t be afraid. Let me find a way. I think these footprints will help me.

On his way he finds big footprints.

Bujju : I think these should be Appu’s footprints.

Mother : Bujju, where were you? I was so worried.

Bujju : Yes ma… I have found you all at last.

Now Bujju realised his mistake that he should not go alone without informing parents.

The Trick Robot Summary in English and Tamil

Vicky was a lazy boy. He never did his homework on time. He never kept his things back in the right place. He pleaded to his father to buy him a robot to do his work. Vicky’s father wanted him to become an active boy. So, he bought him a trick robot. Vicky did not know that it was a trick robot. He was glad to have a robot to do all his work.

Father: Vicky, I have bought you a robot. This intelligent robot will do all your work. Enjoy!

Vicky is excited to test his new robot.

Vicky: I am hungry. Cook some salad for me.

Robot: I do not eat salad. So, I cannot make the salad.

Vicky: What? You are a robot. You cannot refuse me. Clean my room now!

Robot: Do you want me to strain my back? I cannot do that.

Vicky: Really? I cannot believe this! At least, charge my phone.

Robot: Why don’t you do that yourself? I must make some calls.

Vicky: Aah! I have a headache now. Get me a cup of hot tea.

Robot: My battery is draining by listening to you. First, you charge my battery.

Vicky: I am tired of you! Play me a pleasant song. I want to relax.

Robot: That’s a great idea! Why don’t you play me one?

Vicky : Oh no! Dad! Please sell this robot. It is totally useless.

Robot: Yes. This time please sell me to an active master. I don’t want to work for lazy people.

Vicky: Really? Is that why you did not help me?

Vicky: No more robots for me! I will do all the work myself.
