The crew members’ personal aim and target mattered a lot. Mostly they wanted to make sure that they complete the journey with ultimate honesty without the use of engines.

Then the destination, the journey was important. So their contention was to make sure that they go by the rules of circumnavigation without any means of repulsion and anybody else’s assistance. மதியழகன் : ஓ!… சொல்கிறேன். 1977இல் ஓர் ஆலய நிர்வாகப் பதவியை முழுமையாக எடுத்துக்கொண்டு ஆன்மீகத்தின் வாயிலாக அறச்சாலைகள், நந்தவனம், தீர்த்த தடாகம் உருவாக்கினார். ஆதரவற்ற சிறுமிகளுக்குத் “துர்க்காபுரம் மகளிர் இல்லம்” நிறுவினார். அன்னபூரணி அன்னதான மண்டபம் அமைத்தார். வயோதிகர்களுக்கு அடைக்கலம் கொடுத்தார். அன்னையர் இல்லம், துர்க்காதேவி மணிமண்டபம் என்பனவற்றை ஆரம்பித்து சமூகத் தொண்டாற்றினார்.

புனிதா : ஓ!… இவ்வளவு சேவைகள் செய்திருக்கிறார்களா… அதனால்தான் அத்தனைவிருதுகளும்,பட்டங்களும் பெற்றாரோ.
மதியழகன் : ஆம் புனிதா. இன்னும் இதுபோன்ற ஆளுமைகளின் சிறப்புகளை மீண்டும் நாம் சந்திக்கும் போது பேசலாமா?

அவன் என்னைப் பார்த்தான்… அன்று நான் மதிய உணவு எடுத்துவரவில்லை . கடையில் சாப்பிடுவதற்காக வைத்திருந்த பணத்தை அவனுக்காகக் கொடுத்துவிட்டேன். அவன் கொண்டு வந்திருந்த உணவைப் பகிர்ந்து உண்டோம். எல்லோரும் வியந்தனர்.

எப்படிடா நீங்க இரண்டுபேரும்… என்று கேட்டவர்களுக்கு இருவரும் ஒரே மாதிரி பதில் சொன்னோம்.

குப்புசாமி நோய்வாய்ப்பட்டு வேலை இழந்தபோது வீரப்பன் அவரை தன் வீட்டிற்கு அழைத்து வந்து உணவு கொடுப்பார். மேலும், தான் கடன் வாங்கி அதனைக் குப்புசாமிக்குக் கொடுப்பார். சென்னைக்குச் செல்லும் ஆறுமுகத்திடம் கடிதம் ஒன்றையும் மூன்று ரூபாயையும் குப்புசாமியிடம் கொடுத்து அனுப்பினார் வீரப்பன்.

பண்பாளர்:

2) இளம்பயிர் வாட்டம்:
என் தாயின் மார்பில் மணிமாலையென அசைந்து வாழ்ந்தேனே! இப்பொழுது. இளம்பயிர் வளர்ந்து முதிர்ந்து காய்ந்து மணியாகு முன்பே, தூய மணி போன்ற மழைத்துளி இன்றி வாடிக் காய்ந்து விட்டது போல நானும் வாடுகிறேன். என் மனம் மரக்கிளையில் இருந்து பறிக்கப்பட்ட மலர்போல் வாடுகிறது.

3) அம்பு துளைத்த வேதனை:
தீயையும் நஞ்சையும் தன் முனையில் கொண்ட அம்பு துளைத்ததால் ஏற்படும் புண்ணின் வரியைப் போல என் துயரம் வேதனை தருகிறது. துணையைப் பிரிந்த ஒரு பறவையைப் போல நான் இக்காட்டில் அழுது வாடுகிறேன்.

4) தவிப்பு :

கலைத்தன்மைக்கு எவ்விதக் குறைவும் வாராமல், கலாதேவியின் காதற் கணவனாகவும் சமுதாயத் தாயின் அன்புப் புதல்வனாகவும் இருந்துதான், நான் எழுதுகிறேன்.

The Second beggar used to cry, “He is helped who the king helps”. This was repeated by them everyday. The Emperor of Rome heard it so often that he decided to help the beggar who popularized him in the streets of Rome. He ordered a loaf of bread to be baked and filled with pieces of gold. When the beggar felt the heavy weight of the bread, he sold it to his friend as soon as he met him. The latter carried it home. When he cut the loaf of bread he found sparkling pieces of gold. Thanking God, he stopped begging from that day. But the other continued to beg through the city. Puzzled by the beggar’s behaviour, the Emperor summoned him to his presence and asked him, “What have you done with the loaf of bread that I had sent you lately?” The man replied, “I sold it to my friend, because it was heavy and did not seem well baked” Then the Emperor said, “Truly he whom God helps is helped indeed,” and turned the beggar out of his palace.

முன்பொருநாள் ரோம் நகரில் இரண்டு பிச்சைக்காரர்கள் இருந்தனர். முதல் பிச்சைக்காரன் கடவுள் எப்படியாவது யார் மூலமாவது எனக்கு உதவுவார் என்று கண்ணீர் விட்டான். இரண்டாம் பிச்சைக்காரன் மன்னனைப் புகழ்ந்து பாடினால் மன்னன் காப்பான் என்றான். தினமும் இருவரும் இப்படியே சொல்லிக்கொண்டு இருந்தார்கள்.

ரோம் அரசர் தன்னைப் பற்றிப் பேசிப் புகழ்ந்து எப்படியாவது தான் பாதுகாப்பேன் என்று நம்புகிற பிச்சைக்காரனுக்கு உதவ விரும்பினார்.

நீளமான ரொட்டிப் பொட்டலத்தில், ரொட்டித் துண்டுகள் நடுவே சில பொற்காசுகளை வைத்துக் கொடுத்தான்.

இரண்டாம் பிச்சைக்காரன் ரொட்டித் துண்டு பொட்டலம் கனமாக இருக்கிறது; விற்றால் பணம் சம்பாதிக்கலாம் என்று முதல் பிச்சைக்காரனான நண்பனிடம் விற்றுவிடுகிறான்.

இப்படியே ரொட்டித் துண்டை தினமும் விற்கிறான். அதனை வாங்கும் முதலாம் பிச்சைக்காரன் ரொட்டித்துண்டை வெட்டிப்பார்த்தால் தினமும் பொற்காசுகள் மின்னின.

தினமும் கடவுளுக்கு நன்றி சொல்லி பொற்காசுகளை எடுத்து வைத்து சேர்த்து வைத்தான். பிச்சை எடுப்பதை நிறுத்தி விடுகிறான்.

இரண்டாம் பிச்சைக்காரன் தொடர்ந்து வீதிகளில் பிச்சை எடுத்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறான். மன்னன் அவனை அழைத்து நான் கொடுத்த ரொட்டிப் பொட்டலங்களை என்ன செய்தாய் என்று கேட்டார்.

அது எடுத்துச்செல்ல கனமாக இருந்தபடியால் என் பிச்சைக்கார நண்பனிடம் அதனை விற்றுவிட்டேன் என்றான்.

மன்னர் தனக்குள் நினைத்துக்கொண்டார். “கடவுள் தன்னைத் தேடுபவர்களுக்கு உண்மையிலே யார் மூலமாவது உதவுகிறார்” இரண்டாம் பிச்சைக்காரனிடம் திரும்பி, ‘சரி நீ போகலாம்’ என்று அரண்மனையில் இருந்து வெளியேறச் சொன்னார்.

அயல்நாட்டுப் பெண்மணியாக இருந்தாலும், இந்திய நாட்டுக் குடிமகளாகவே வாழ்ந்தவர் அன்னை தெரசா. அவர் நோய்வாய்ப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கும், ஆதரவற்ற எளியோருக்கும் தனது களங்கமில்லாத சேவையால் பெருந்தொண்டாற்றினார்.

“காண்கின்ற மனிதர்களிடத்தில் அன்பு கூறாவிட்டால்
காணாத இறைவனிடத்தில் எப்படி அன்பு கூறுவாய்”

என்ற விவிலியத்தின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கொள்கையாகக் கொண்டு “உதவும் கரங்கள் ஜெபிக்கும் உதடுகளைவிட மேலானவை” என்று கூறி தன்னலமற்ற உதவிகளை அன்னை தெரசா செய்தமையால் ஒரு கவிஞர் தனது கவிதையில்,

“எவர் ஒருவருடைய நெஞ்சு ஏழை மக்களுக்காகத்
துயரத்தில் அழுமோ, அவரையே நான் மகாத்மா என்பேன்’
என்று குறிப்பிடும் விவேகானந்தர்,

“சுயநலம் என்பதை அறவே தூர எறிந்துவிட்டு
வேலை செய்யுங்கள்”
என்கிறார்.

அப்துல்கலாம்:
தன்னலமற்ற தனிப்பெரும் தலைவராக வாழ்ந்து மறைந்தவர் அப்துல் கலாம்.

“நம்மை அனைவரும் நினைவு கூரும் வகையில்

முடிவுரை:
